Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Temporary summer employees may work in a variety of positions around the district and may perform duties including:

  • Routine cleaning and minor maintenance of assigned areas
  • Major nonroutine cleaning as part of summer cleaning teams
  • Landscape maintenance including weeding mowing edging topdressing etc.
  • General maintenance tasks painting etc.
  • Assist with inventory of books equipment and supplies
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks and delivery of materials and books to and from
    buildings

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must be 18 years of age have a valid drivers license and have the ability to:

  • Read and follow verbal and written directions of supervising staff
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Establish and maintain effective work relationships
  • Safely lift and carry equipment or books weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Comply with all district policies and procedures

SALARY$37.35 Hourly. Salary is based upon the current 202425 GROUNDS Salary Schedule Salary(Level I); placement on the salary schedule will be determined by Human Resources DOE. FLSA NonExempt.

WORK YEAR Temporary Summer Position (hours may vary 202425 school year only)

BENEFITSWashington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement packagefor eligible positions. Generally you are eligible for SEBB benefits if you are anticipated to work at least 630 hours per school year (September 1 through August 31). TheSchool Employees Benefits Board(SEBB) benefits include:

All offers of employment are contingent uponsatisfactory results of background checks with prior employers and/or character references; satisfactory outcome of a criminal history background check (includes fingerprinting); satisfactory outcome of sexual misconduct information from prior school district employers; and approval by the Northshore School Board.
