The University of Miami has an exciting opportunity for a full time Ophthalmic Imager 1 for Bascom Palmer Eye Institute located in Miami Florida.
The Ophthalmic Imager 1 understands the theory principles and practice of eye care. The Ophthalmic Imager documents in the EMR system and performs ocular diagnostic testing using specialized instrumentation in compliance with department standards.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Performs supervised ocular diagnostic testing using specialtyspecific imaging instruments documents procedures and uploads images into the electronic medical record/PACS platform.
Provides patientcentric care.
Adheres to University of Miami policies standards and values.
Complies with regulations and maintains patient confidentiality.
Follows best practices of patient safety hand hygiene and infection control.
Completes University of Miami mandatory inservices and online training.
Attends educational courses for ophthalmic personnel when assigned.
Demonstrates high quality of work through accuracy timeliness professionalism and thoroughness.
Meets daily productivity goals.
Ensures all equipment is calibrated and instrumentation is in proper working order.
Organizes and stocks rooms for daily clinical activities.
Travels to satellite eye centers when necessary.
Works evenings and weekends as needed.
Performs organizational duties as assigned.
Performs diagnostic testing including but not limited to the below.
Color fundus photography
Fluorescein angiography
ICG (Indocyanine Green) angiography
Optical coherence tomography
Automated perimetry
Slit lamp photography
External photography
Ocular motility photography

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification and Licensing:
Basic Life Support (BLS). CRA Certification preferred
Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Knowledge Skills and Attitudes:
Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
Ability to analyze organize and prioritize work under pressure while meeting deadlines
