Job Description
International School of Texas isseeking a strategic detail-driven Controller to lead our internal finance and Human Resources function and support our long-term growth. This is a part-time on-siterole based inAustin TX.
As the Controller at International School of Texas you will oversee our accounting operations implement financial controls manage budgets and reporting and ensure full compliance with financial addition you will oversee Human Resources in conjunction with an outside HR company (PEO). You will work closely with the Head of School and Division Heads to provide insights and help guide school strategy through a strong financial lens.
Responsibilities:
- Perform all accounting operations including AP/AR payroll reconciliations and month-end close
- Improve internal financial processes and controls
- Prepare budgets forecasts and variance analysis
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP and IRS requirements
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports
- Coordinate with external CPA firmand legal advisors
- Evaluate financial performance and recommend strategic improvements
- Monitor cash flow capital allocation and company spend
- Manage financial systems and tools including potential upgrades or integrations
- Manage Human Resources in conjunction with Employer Flexible our PEO.
What Were Looking For:
- 5 years of experience in accounting/finance with 2 years in a controller or senior accounting role preferred
- Deep understanding of GAAP and financial compliance
- Proficiency in accounting platforms (QuickBooks Online preferred) and tools like Excel/Sheets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail organization and communication
- Experience with Veracross software is a preferred but not required
- Able to work part-time in our Austin TX office
