Job Description
Position Title: Band Director/Teacher
Reports To: Principal
Employment Status: Exempt
Salary Range: 11 Month Teacher Salary Schedule with additional stipend
Radford City Schools isseeking a Band Director/Teacher to coordinate and facilitate a high school band Band Director/Teacher will ensure that every student has the opportunity to develop their music knowledge and skills fostering a lifelong appreciation of music.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct instrumental performers including concert band soloists and ensembles.
- Lead and assist with band participation at extracurricular events including concerts football games pep rallies parades and VBODA activities.
- Instruct at high schools and middle schools as assigned.
- Oversee process of cleaning repairing and storing all band equipment.
- Accompany and supervise students on outoftown trips.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues students parents and community members.
- Create an environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical social and emotional development of students.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students equipment materials and facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university.
- Virginia teaching license with proper endorsement.
