Job Description
Description: Minnesota Internship Center Charter High School is seeking candidates for a Safety Support/Maintenance position at our Online East Campus in St Paul. The duties of this position include ensuring the safety of staff and students enforcing rules and regulations for students and assisting staff when disciplinary actions need to be taken for a student and general maintenance of the building.
Qualifications: Candidates should have experience working in an Educational setting. Experience working with secondary students is preferred. Experience with day to day maintenance of a large space. MNIC Charter School seeks Safety and Support and Maintenance personnel that support the students and staff. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is a selfstarter and can work independently or as part of a team.
The ideal candidate will create a safe and engaging environment for the students and staff while promoting MNICs culture and policies. The position requires following all program policies and procedures including health and safety. In addition the opportunity to work with youth aged 1420 in a dynamic environment.

- The position will require that you provide social emotional and behavior intervention consultation with students and families. Provide social emotional and behavior intervention consultation with students and classroom teachers. As well as provide social skills instruction and support for students.
- Our ideal candidate has the ability to connect to our students by building relationships that will benefit all learners and create a positive successful learning environment.
- Safety Support staff are expected to commit to outreach in the community. In addition it requires the ability to recruit new students in Community Outreach. Travel will be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of Safety and Support Staff:
- Open the building every morning.
- Greet students and staff upon entering.
- Screening and wanding of students and their belongings.
- Light Data Entry
- Organizing and leading youth groups
- Assist in recruiting and maintaining retention.
- Some home visits will be required during working hours.
- Other duties assigned.

Typical Duties of Maintenance Staff:
- Cleaning sweeping mopping etc. of classrooms bathrooms hallways offices
- Disinfect touch surfaces such as door handles and railings throughout the day
- Empty trash and recycling including hauling out to dumpster
- Inventory cleaning supplies and fill out reorder sheets
- Participate in training related to and be responsible for safe use of cleaning equipment and chemicals
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Special Physical Requirements
- Safely lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds
- Stand and walk on concrete and tile floors for long periods of time
- Able to withstand a wide range of temperatures
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Ability to pass a background check.

Wages are competitive with other schools in the area. All regular MNIC positions are fulltime and salaried including paraprofessionals nutritionists and maintenance. That means that you receive the same paycheck every pay period of the year and wont ever have a lower or missed paycheck because of school breaks.
Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays
Schoolyear employees receive 80 hours of paid time off per school year (10 full days) along with 22 scheduled paid days off for holidays and school breaks. Yearround employees receive 160 hours of paid time off per year (20 full days) along with 28 scheduled paid days off for holidays and school breaks.
