Scottish Power Energy Networks (SPEN) is driving the expansion of its transmission and distribution infrastructure across Scotland England and Wales. Delivering the necessary consents through the planning system and environmental regulations is essential to achieving these growth targets. The Land & Planning Team plays a vital role in shaping policy and regulatory frameworks that enable efficient approvals supporting the businesss longterm objectives.
What Youll Be Doing
Supporting the Strategic Planning Policy & Performance Manager and Head of Land & Planning your responsibilities will include:
Developing coordinating and submitting consultation responses on planning energy and environmental legislation.
Ensuring consistency across teams aligning responses with business objectives.
Contributing to engagement strategies influencing key stakeholders and policy direction.
Supporting tracking and reporting of consultation responses within SPENs license areas.
Acting as a key interface between internal stakeholders and national policy discussions.
Managing external workstreams coordinating regulatory requirements efficiently.
Assisting in the development of briefing materials for senior leadership.
What Youll Bring
Relevant qualifications or experience in planning environmental disciplines land management or related fields.
Project management expertise particularly in regulatory or infrastructure environments.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills fostering collaboration across multiple parties.
Excellent communication and relationship management ensuring effective coordination.
Ability to influence strategic decisions shaping policies and regulatory compliance.
Analytical and problemsolving abilities anticipating challenges and implementing solutions.
Resilience and determination managing competing priorities with sound judgment.
Experience working both independently and as part of a team.
Minimum Requirements
Fluent spoken and written English
UK Driving Licence
Experience in planning environmental policy land management or related fields
Ability to analyze and interpret legislative frameworks relevant to infrastructure projects
