The ideal candidate for a Buyer/Planner would be able to do the following:
Planning & Inventory Management:
- Analyze MRP safety stocks reorder points and service requirements ensuring adequate requisitions are released to support value stream production plans.
- Collaborate with Commodity Managers & Engineering to successfully implement engineering changes while minimizing excess and obsolete material.
- Process requisitions into purchase orders and obtain acknowledgement from suppliers.
- Ensure the timely delivery of raw materials needed to maintain the flow of production at the pace of our customers while achieving the lowest possible cost of ownership for Alto-Shaam by properly maintaining master data within Oracle Fusion.
- Manage the procurement of materials components and services necessary for production.
Supplier Performance:
- Ensure suppliers meet delivery requirements through regular follow-up and proactive expediting. Provide proper escalation in the event production will experience a shortage.
- Maintain good supplier relations and represent Alto-Shaam in a professional and ethical manner while driving suppliers to meet delivery and quality expectations.
Supply Chain Optimization:
- Develop and execute strategies to create inbound transportation efficiencies across all site-specific suppliers including exploration of returnable packaging resulting in lower total cost of ownership.
- Lead and collaborate on structured problem-solving activities targeted at quality supplier performance and process improvement.
- Trained in and adheres to the procedures outlined in the TA-390 Supply Chain Training Matrix
Qualifications :
For a candidate to be successful as a Buyer/Planner they must have:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in purchasing materials management or supply management in a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience required. Emphasis in Business Mathematics Supply Chain or Operations Management preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in Supply Chain Management best practices. CPSM or APICS certification preferred.
- Customer service orientated with a focus to deliver on-time results.
- Proven experience and skillset with ERP systems including Oracle is required.
- Strong analytical skills; Ability to interpret and communicate technical information with a high level of detail and accuracy with internal and external stakeholders.
- Team-oriented professional with strong collaboration networking and communication skills able to effectively drive project execution with internal and external organizations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills inclusive of all Microsoft Business Suite. Oracle Fusion experience is a plus.
- Travel is less than 5%.
