AECOM is seeking a Senior Environmental Planner Airport Project to join our team. This position is based on-site out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.
Major Responsibilities:
Manages the environmental review process for Facility Alteration Permits (FAP) to ensure alignment with all applicable environmental standards and regulatory requirements.
Provides expert guidance on environmental permitting compliance processes and regulatory obligations.
Ensures environmental requirements are fully integrated into program planning and design strategies.
Advises project delivery teams on environmental strategies offering support with data inputs impact analysis and risk mitigation.
Collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to proactively identify and address environmental risks.
Coordinates with Environmental Services to consult with regulatory agencies on environmental plans and monitors evolving regulations to maintain compliance.
Partners with Program Delivery and Technical Shared Services teams to strategically plan review and validate environmental components across projects.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position candidates must possess at a very minimum:
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
Preferred Requirements:
Typically brings 10 years of professional experience in environmental planning within the construction and development industry.
Minimum of 5 years of experience monitoring tracking and delivering environmental components in the infrastructure or development sector; experience on large complex programs is considered a strong asset.
Proven experience collaborating with federal and provincial environmental regulatory agencies with in-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory frameworks (e.g. Impact Assessment Act IAA Canadian Environmental Protection Act CEPA Fisheries Act etc.).
Demonstrated expertise in managing and reporting on complex contaminated sites.
Strong experience in environmental data management and the preparation of technical reports.
Proven ability to coordinate small teams (35 members) of technical specialists and engineers to deliver on environmental objectives.
Additional Information :
This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.
