Director of Nursing:
Role:
Responsible for managing the daytoday operations of the ADN VN and RN to BSN programs. Directs and administers program activities in support of policies goals and objectives. Provides leadership in the development implementation and evaluation of programs in accordance with the academic standards and rules and regulations of Grayson College the Texas Board of Nursing the Accreditation Commission of Education in Nursing and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. Serves as a liaison between the programs and the college system and community.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- 30% Supervises and maintains program curricula to meet rules and regulations of the governing organization state regulatory and national accreditation agencies. Ensures regular evaluation of the program by students graduates faculty advisory committee members and employers.
- 25% Monitors compliance with policies and procedures and maintains academic standards as established by the College and the School of Nursing. Leads the development implementation and evaluation of the nursing curriculum and teaching/learning methods.
- 5% Completes required annual reports to agencies such as the BON ACEN THECB; maintains all reports required for GC Institutional Effectiveness.
- 5% Supervise orientation and mentoring of new faculty lab personnel clinical teaching assistants and preceptors.
- 5% Participate in local state and national meetings to maintain currency and trends in education and health care delivery.
- 5% Maintain course schedules catalog and website program information.
- 5% Develop and oversee budget
- 5% Enforces policies and procedures and academic standards as established by the College and the School of Nursing; reviews student and faculty handbooks twice yearly and updates as needed.
- 5% Develops grant proposals to support and enhance the nursing programs.
- 5% Collaborate with Team Coordinators to plan schedules make faculty assignments and allocate resources.
- 5% Performs other jobrelated duties as assigned.

- To note observations of employee performance into appropriate reporting tool as well as give to and receive feedback from employee on the same no later than XX working days following each quarter.
- To ensure successful accreditation; and facilitates activities at the unit level to seamlessly integrate department with allcollege goals.

- Complies with all federal and state laws and regulations relating to higher education.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience: Two years to five years of similar or related experience.
- Education: A Doctoral degree.
- Interpersonal Skills: A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or can be of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
- Other Skills: Minimum of three years in academic administration with experience in adult programs preferred. Excellent written oral and interpersonal communication skills are necessary.
- Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However there may be some walking standing bending carrying of light items driving an automobile etc. No speciall physical demands are required to perform the work.
- Work Environment: Regular exposure to favorable conditions such as those found in a normal office.
