The Tool & Die Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating machine toolsincluding lathes boring machines drill presses and grindersto machine forgings according to specifications. This role requires interpreting blueprints and sketches while applying machining knowledge to ensure precision and quality.
- Requirements & Qualifications to Get Job
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a machine shop environment.
- Proficiency in basic math including addition subtraction multiplication division & fractiontodecimal conversions.
- Ability to use simple hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints work orders and technical documents.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to visually inspect equipment and products.
- Ability to safely operate heavy machinery while maintaining awareness of surroundings.
- Capability to apply pressure in multiple directions to tighten and loosen hardware.
- 18 years or older and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Able to communicate in English
- High school diploma / GED
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: eye & hearing protection gloves steeltoed boots hard hat and flameretardant work clothes etc.
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs. & work in varying environmental conditions (heat dust noise vibration humidity).

- Basic computer literacy.
- Experience with CNC machine operation and programming.

- Read and interpret work orders blueprints and product specifications.
- Set up and operate machine tools such as lathes boring machines drill presses and grinders.
- Conduct basic machine setup and input operational data/parameters.
- Verify dimensions using measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges.
- Understand metal characteristics and machining methods to adjust processes accordingly.
- Use measuring tools (tape measures scales) to assess material dimensions and weight in both English and Metric systems.
- Perform calculations to determine precise material cuts and modifications.
- Utilize hand tools and equipment to correct salvageable orders (e.g. using grinders for adjustments).
- Maintain a clean organized workspace and comply with company safety protocols.
- Operate saws forklifts overhead cranes and packing equipment safely.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and assist other processes as directed by the supervisor.
