Job Description

Is an internship passionate about changing the worlds energy future intriguing If so we might have just the opportunity youre looking for!

In this paid internship you will work on the development of a unique ultrasonic sensor. You will develop multiphysics models of components model electromagnetic/acoustic coupling and perform validation experiments. Reporting to the Measurement Sciences group. This team works a 9x80 schedule and works onsite at our Idaho Falls campus. Start date and duration of internship vary based on project and student availability. You may be eligible for course credit for this internship if approved by your university.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Masters Degree Program enrolled full time at an accredited college/university studying Mechanical Engineering Civil Engineering or closely related field.

  • Experience in testing of ultrasonic sensors/systems and multiphysics modeling
  • A minimum overall 3.0 GPA

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. (including CPT and OPT)

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Undergraduate Internships ($26.16/hour $31.47/hour)

  • Masters Internships and PhD Internships PreCandidacy ($32.87/hour $35.26/hour)

  • PhD Internships PostCandidacy ($35.95/hour $38.41/hour)

  • Eligible interns are provided paid holiday time off and many of our internships offer travel reimbursements.

INL is a sciencebased applied engineering national laboratory dedicated to supporting the U.S. Department of Energys mission in nuclear energy research science and national defense.
