Job Description

Senior Labor Partner

Minimum Requirements:

  • Employment and Labor Law
  • Book of business of $1 Million (minimum)
  • 5 to 8 Years Experience

Responsibilities:

  • Client Advisory: Provide strategic legal advice to clients on a wide range of labor law issues including employee rights labor relations collective bargaining and workplace policies. Ensure clients comply with federal state and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Collective Bargaining: Lead negotiations between clients and labor unions. Develop and implement negotiation strategies draft collective bargaining agreements and address issues related to contract enforcement and interpretation.
  • Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve labor disputes including grievances arbitration and mediation. Represent clients in disputes related to union activities contract violations and employee complaints.
  • Litigation Management: Oversee and handle laborrelated litigation such as wrongful termination discrimination and wage and hour disputes. Develop case strategies conduct legal research and represent clients in court or arbitration proceedings.
  • Policy Development: Advise clients on the development and implementation of workplace policies and practices including employee handbooks codes of conduct and safety procedures. Ensure policies are compliant with labor laws and best practices.
  • Compliance Audits: Conduct audits and assessments to ensure clients labor practices comply with relevant laws and regulations. Identify potential risks and recommend corrective actions to address compliance issues.
  • Training and Education: Develop and deliver training programs for clients on labor law topics including union relations employee rights and legal compliance. Keep clients informed about recent legal developments and their implications.
  • Strategic Planning: Assist clients with longterm labor relations strategies including workforce planning organizational changes and union avoidance or management strategies. Provide guidance on labor market trends and their impact on the clients business.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of junior lawyers associates and paralegals specializing in labor law. Delegate tasks review work and provide professional development opportunities to ensure highquality legal services.
  • Business Development: Drive the growth of the firms labor law practice by networking building client relationships and engaging in marketing activities. Participate in industry events contribute to publications and develop new business opportunities.
  • Ethics and Professionalism: Maintain high ethical standards in all legal practices. Ensure compliance with professional conduct rules and address any ethical issues that arise in the course of practice.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates and reports to clients on the status of legal matters strategic recommendations and changes in labor law. Communicate effectively with clients opposing counsel regulatory agencies and the court.
