The Sourcing Manager is responsible for executing Direct Procurement Operations activities within a designated region or site ensuring alignment with Category Management strategies. This role encompasses supplier management (including negotiation contracting and performance monitoring) as well as handling escalations from business stakeholders. The Sourcing Manager plays a key part in master data management driving cost savings and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize value for Operations.
Ensuring all procurement requests adhere to category guidance and comply with relevant policies standards and procedures is paramount. The role involves collaborating with both Procurement and Business stakeholders to understand requirements and execute the appropriate procurement process using established methodologies and tools. The Sourcing Manager also works closely with Category Management teams to address enduser needs and identify opportunities for demand aggregation and leverage.
Furthermore this position requires proficiency in business enterprise tools (e.g. SAP) and a comprehensive understanding of the endtoend procurement process including requirements documentation analysis negotiation and stakeholder communication. The Sourcing Manager translates business needs into clear procurement specifications ensuring efficient execution and high levels of internal customer service. This role contributes to identifying and delivering overall savings opportunities.
The Opportunity
Perform procurement operations activities Execute procurement operations activities within Region or site ensuring a focus on efficiency compliance and the quality of customer service. This includes the following actions:
Understand enduser requirements as received directly or indirectly
Leverage the applicable category guidance documents and procurement knowledge to determine
the best method for driving value in meeting the request
Execute support requests applying continuous improvement methodologies where possible
Ensure compliance to applicable policies standards and operating procedures to maintain
the organizations right to operate
Communicate the status progress and outcomes of procurement activities
Support the creation and review of relevant purchasing documentation
Maintain information flows Responsible for maintaining strong information flows back to the Category Management teams in the event of:
Highvalue or nonstandard requests (i.e. those not covered by guidelines)
Opportunities to aggregate demand and generate additional leverage
Regular submission of operations data and requirements to develop new strategies
Apply sourcing process Application of the sourcing process (RfIs RfQs RfPs) for the delivery of sourcing activity incl. the application of eSourcing tools. Support the implementation of new processes policies and technologies
Collaborate with support functions Collaborate on an asneeded basis with relevant business support functions (e.g. Accounts Payable) to drive operational efficiencies and maximum valueadd to the business
Monitor targets and KPIs Ensure that Direct Procurement Operations targets and metrics on customer service are delivered. Track and monitor these metrics where required and escalate issues as they arise
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Support CSR initiatives related to (candidate) suppliers e.g. supplier diversity antibribery animal welfare etc.
Training Perform continuous professional development activities and ensure uptodate training in processes and systems relevant to the position
Who You Are:
University degree with a businessrelated degree preferably a postgraduate business qualification
Business level fluency in English as well as the primary business language of the site(s) (competence or fluency in other subregion languages is strongly encouraged)
3 years of procurement experience with experience in basic contracting business enterprise systems and spot buying
Experience or demonstrated understanding in supporting cost reduction and value improvement programs
Experience in operational excellence or continuous improvement methodologies as well as experience in Life Sciences are a plus
Experience with enterprise systems and procure topay tools and eSourcing tools is desired
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Good communication skills and demonstrated understanding of translating business requirements into procurement specifications with customer service in mind
Knowledgeable in systems and processes for efficient management of contract documentation templates and processing tools (e.g. eSourcing eAuction)
Desirably professional purchasing (e.g. CIPS ISM) or Finance related licenses or certifications
Competence or fluency in other subregion languages is strongly encouraged.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of Indianapolis IN is $74000 $137000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience qualifications geographic location and other jobrelated factors permitted by law.
