The Role:
The Member Compliance Specialist role is a key role within the wider Payments and Schemes team liaising directly with APs Members on due diligence and Scheme compliance issues. The purpose of the role is to manage and monitor Member activity in relation to the Scheme Rules and the supporting documents.

The role is considered a Subject Matter Expert in relation to all compliance matters across all 3 Schemes. Therefore there is a high level of expectation that the individual will become familiar with the AP Scheme Rules and the relevant compliance frameworks and processes to manage expectations of our Members and internal stakeholders.

As the Member Compliance team is only a team of 3 the team is highly efficient and collaborative. The expectation from the successful candidate will be that they will have the desire to work in a strong team environment and will be a strong communicator in both written and verbal forms. To be successful in this role the potential candidate will want to seek solutions to potential problems and/or inefficiencies in processes for the benefit of the team and our Members. Having an enthusiastic attitude with a strong problemsolving mindset are a good foundation to ensure success in the role.

Proposed Role Responsibilities are:

  • Deliver and embed bestinclass portfolio management relating to Member accounts and maintain a regular engagement cadence.
  • Support the overall team by enhancing processes in the management of daytoday compliance cases.
  • Coordinate and process member noncompliance tickets with appropriate actions within agreed SLA.
  • Facilitate conversations with relevant stakeholders on noncompliance matters remediation plans and compliance exemptions.
  • Ability to understand and interpret the AP Scheme Rules and apply those to provide opinion and advice on compliance matters.
  • Work closely with cross functional teams such as Product Legal Payment Operations and Fraud.
  • Lead discussion on risk prioritisation using the relevant risk frameworks.
  • Coordinate and recommend the appropriate consequence management to noncompliance tickets breaches and issues.
  • Present due diligence and noncompliance issues to forums and relevant management committees.
  • Draft and send out member communications.
  • Coordinate and review Annual Attestation processes identify issues and work with the members on remediation plans.
  • Maintain accurate records governance and compliance registers.
  • Create and provide compliance reporting for internal stakeholders and analyse data trends.
  • Support organisation wide projects to contribute to the wider strategic goals of the organisation.

Proposed Position Requirements are:

  • Minimum of 3 years working in compliance in either the payments industry or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks across either the payments industry or financial services.
  • In depth understanding of the regulatory landscape of either the payments industry banking or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of effective risk and control frameworks is a must.
