1st Major Area of Responsibility Plant Operations Management
Develop implement and analyze methodologies in order to improve factory efficiency and reliability increasing asset utilization and reducing costs.
Oversees / directs personnel in operating and maintaining ammonia system and PSM program
Develop and maintain a culture of continuous improvement and innovation to support improved performance of manufacturing processes assets safety and quality. Minimize line downtime assist with process and operations improvement process optimization and improve overall equipment effectiveness
Identify coordinate ROI of capital improvement projects and responsible for implementation from concept to installation.
Oversee support and develop the management of the Maintenance Department over all shifts.
Oversee maintenance project/task list and ensuring that maintenance assignments and completion of goals are met in a timely manner.
Prepare and manage the maintenance and capital budgets for the plants.
Adhere to all safety and quality rules regulations policies programs and related Bernatellos Foods Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines.
Ensure safety compliance efficiency and speed is followed in all aspects of the jobs executed by the department.
Work with all departments to ensure SQF certification which includes HACCP GMP and housekeeping standards.
2nd Major Area of Responsibility Leadership and Safety
Ensure that contractor management is such that only competent well trained personnel enter the site and in particular demonstrate a high level of safety performance.
Meet with public utility agencies to negotiate the best rates seeking all power savings and credit opportunities.
Ensure improvement of service level by influencing and driving planning and scheduling of work orders to maximize equipment uptime and availability.
Direct the activities of outside contractors to ensure that plans are being followed as per specifications and ensure that all safety regulations personal hygiene and food safety practices are followed.
Assist in developing site capital plan. Ensure repairs and maintenance costs are controlled to agreed levels.
Prepare bids budgets and contracts and direct the negotiation of terms with outside maintenance/facilities contractors.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Minimum of three years in an engineering/maintenance leadership role in manufacturing environment.
Expertise in Food processing and packaging equipment ammonia refrigeration systems conveyor systems Freezing systems.
Knowledge of GMPs FDA guidelines purchasing practices and process validation.
Proven track record of utilizing Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement in implementing new maintenance programs that have saved money.
Familiar with CMMS Systems Computerized Maintenance Management Systems for preventative predictive maintenance inventory tracking PM scheduling and parts utilization.
Working knowledge of code requirements including fire protection security grounds internal structural plans HVAC electrical and plumbing
