Job Description

Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Medical Affairs Ophthalmology is a key member of the medical affairs team who will work closely with medical affairs and crossfunctional stakeholders to implement key aspects of the US strategy for ophthalmology. The successful candidate will drive execution across medical affairs activities primarily focused on realworld evidence generation congress planning insight gathering commercial/medical review committees and KOL engagement/advisory boards.. This role reports to the Senior Director of Medical Affairs US Medical Lead Ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities Include (may vary according to candidates experience/background):

  • Support implementation of US medical affairs strategy for pegcetacoplan in GA in alignment with global medical affairs strategy and crossfunctional US initiatives
  • Lead US focused realworld evidence generation initiatives including review of investigator initiated trials (IITs) collaborative research projects (CRPs) and exploratory data analyses (EDAs) in collaboration with crossfunctional partners
  • Assist in implementation of insight gathering congress planning KOL engagement plan and US advisory boards
  • Collaborate with Field Medical & Global Medical Affairs Strategy to ensure training and resources are available at appropriate times
  • Serve as a medical reviewer on commercial and medical product review committees
  • Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders in the Retina/ophthalmology community
  • Collaborate with cross functional team on approaches to fill identified data and/or communication gaps in alignment with overall strategic objectives
  • Serve as strategic/scientific resource and therapeutic area expert to crossfunctional stakeholders

Education Registration & Certification:

  • Must have a PhD Pharm D or MD level degree or equivalent

Experience:

  • 5 years experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology medical affairs organization
  • Experience in Retina/ophthalmology therapeutic area strongly preferred
  • Agency management experience preferred
  • Significant experience across drug development stages particularly in latestage development launch and post approval setting; experience with postapproval research initiatives strongly preferred

Skills Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong leadership skills including demonstrated ability to lead a crossfunctional team and influence at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including presentation and facilitation
  • Ability to work independently and with flexibility to handle workflow in a fastpaced environment
  • Some travel will be required up to 40%
