DescriptionThe Shelter Task Force Coordinator supports disaster sheltering and housing transition efforts by working with local state tribal and voluntary agencies. This role assesses sheltering needs identifies recovery housing solutions and ensures a survivorcentric approach to shelter transitions. Responsibilities include coordinating shelter units such as travel trailers or hotels. This position requires strong communication problemsolving and field coordination skills in high pressure environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with local state and federal representatives in assessing preliminary sheltering impacts and needs.
- Support local state and tribal jurisdictions in identifying available options for sheltering and innovative resilient longerterm housing.
- Identify solutions for and coordinates the transition from shelters to longer term recovery housing synchronizing those plans with state and local jurisdiction stakeholders.
- Work with voluntary agencies to ensure coordination of recovery housing services and to streamline aid/assistance to survivors.
- Participate in regular status meetings with team members to discuss accomplishments to date future milestones and challenges or obstacles.
- Help implement processes for tracking progress and provide regular reports and briefings on recovery housing efforts.
- Identify key data requirements for tracking recovery housing objectives.
- Ensure that shelter solutions are survivor centric and accessible to all populations including individuals with AFN.
- Liaise between disaster survivors local state and federal representatives to ensure compliance with sheltering program guidelines policies and regulations.
- Assist in managing the deployment of shelter units across a multicounty geographic region.
Requirements - Experience in disaster recovery emergency management or disaster response.
- Knowledge of congregate and noncongregate sheltering programs disaster housing assistance and state/local emergency management protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coordinate across government agencies nonprofit organizations and community groups.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fastpaced high stress environment with evolving priorities.
- Experience in coordinating survivorcentric sheltering or housing solutions including working with voluntary agencies and other service providers.
- Ability to deploy to disasteraffected areas and work extended hours including weekends as needed during the response operations.
- FEMA Certifications in disaster response and recovery (e.g. IS100 IS700 IS800) (preferred).
- Previous experience working in operations logistics disaster case management shelter management or other emergency management related fields (preferred).
