Facility Management (FM)provides essential facilities infrastructure support for 2.1 million square feet of the Stanford Health Care Palo Alto campus a Level 1 Trauma and Academic Medical Center.
Stanford Health Care is seeking a dynamic Manager to lead our team of Facility Managers Program Project Coordinators and Skilled Trades staff at the Palo Alto campus. This key position drives facility projects enhancing the environment of care for patients serves as a liaison between construction project managers and operational stakeholders ensuring appropriate communication and mitigation plans to maintain operational continuity. Leads the Patient Room Optimization program and conducts essential environmental care and fire life safety rounds with department partners to enhance the healing environment for patients.

A Brief Overview
The Manager Facilities Management oversees the operational activities of their region/area through supervision of Facility Managers. They serve as a point of escalation for the customer for issue resolution and interact with the Director if further direction is needed. The MGR Facilities Management is also accountable for collaborating with the other MGR Facilities Management to ensure standardization of activities across the system and advancing the Hospitals strategic objectives.
The Manager Facilities Management is a leadership position responsible for all renovations maintenance and staff in assigned inpatient facilities on the main campus in Palo Alto or offsite facilities. The MGR Facilities Management acts as a collaborative partner with department directors managers and staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment is provided to patients their families visitors and staff. Facilitates and coordinates interdepartmental work efforts and facility related events that have operational impact. Develops supports communicates and helps enforce all environment of care safety/engineering/facility standards. Manages capital and expense budgets; assures adherence to regulatory requirements; develops and tracks quality indicators; sets immediate and long term facility operational and financial goals and develops metrics to track performance. Responsible for communicating facility related news and updates to stakeholders.

What you will do
- Supervises activities of staff through active daily management; staff meetings; 11s; conducts annual performance evaluations to include goal setting; recommends hirefire of staff to Director. Advances staff development by onthejobtraining and supporting time off for approved and applicable coursework.
- Monitors staff workload via established metrics; makes recommendations to Director. Maintains healthy safe work environment through education training visibility of unsafe practices etc.
- Develops and tracks long term financial and operational plans consistent with SHC/department strategy and goals. Develops and ensures adherence to appropriate metrics. Develop and oversee adherence to all budgets.
- Has financial management oversight of cost centers for region for cost control managed through metrics. Drives cost efficiency improvement initiatives for their region through operational management of the FMs.
- Manages all aspects of the region/area including but not limited to daytoday operations coordination of Planning Design and Construction activities on site fire/life safety compliance and correction of noted deficiencies.
- Overall responsibility for the condition and functionality of a facility. Develops and implements policies and practices consistent with safety and engineering standards. Responsible for compliance with applicable regulations laws and codes.
- Manages quality delivery of service levels for the region by internal and external vendors through established metrics. Tracks Facilities Condition Assessment information as generated by the PMO for regionally based multiyear planning in partnership with E&M Chief for recommendations to Director; ties back to FM site inspections for appropriate planning
- Develops and monitors optimal plans for use of all facility systems and equipment. Develops long term plans for replacement and upgrades.
- Has oversight of LandlordProperty Manager relationship for the purposes of escalation to Director of issues as needed; reads leases for general familiarity with terms and conditions.
- Acts as point of escalation in managing emergencies and other urgent issues. On a rotating basis participates is weekend duty officer program
- Negotiates and implements contracts for services.
- Interfaces effectively with all levels of internal stakeholders from Csuite to front line staff.
- This position may require oncall availability during nonstandard hours including nights weekends and holidays to meet business needs and respond to emergencies as necessary. The employee may receive additional compensation if assigned as part of the Facilities Services & Planning (FS&P) Leader on Call Program.
Education Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree Job requires a Bachelors degree in a workrelated discipline/field from an accredited college or university. Relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered. Relevant experience in lieu of degree is in addition to the experience requirements for this position.
Experience Qualifications
- 8 years of experience in related position with increasing levels of responsibility.

Licenses and Certifications
- Professional designations through Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) preferred .
- Professional designations through International Facility Management Association (IFMA) preferred .

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $68.46 $90.70 per hour
