Full time Grade 4/5 ASD Classroom Teacher at the Brockton Therapeutic Day Requirements:DESE Certification in the appropriate content area. Core content educators are also required to be dual certified in either Moderate Disabilities (PK8; 512) or Severe Disabilities (All Levels).Core content educators with active DESE Certification in their content and do not hold certification in Moderate Disabilities (PK 8; 512) or Severe Disabilities (All Levels) will be expected to be working toward such Requirements:Beyond attendance at district/department professional development activities all faculty and staff will be required to:Hold (or be available to earn) current certification in SafetyCare Crisis Prevention Training. Applicants without this certification will be required to attend a twoday workshop in August or afterschool training in September. Attend Restorative Justice training and maintain proficiency with the core concepts elements and aspects of Restorative Practices. Attend PBIS training and maintain proficiency with the core concepts elements and aspects of a wholeschool and classwide PBIS model. Attend Healing Centered Engagement (previously referred to as Trauma Informed Care) training and maintain proficiency with the core concepts elements and aspects of Healing Centered Engagement. Attend all schoolbased professional development activities related to student milieu or programmatic Responsibilities:Establish and maintain regular and frequent twoway collaborative communication with students care givers (parent/guardian family mentors DCF/DMH etc.) and the schoolbased clinical currency and demonstrate proficiency with evidencebased best practices relative to Healing Centered Engagement Restorative Practices and PBIS. Work with various sources of student academic socialemotional and behavioral data and utilize this data effectively to improve student data collection to demonstrate student progress toward IEP goals and objectives. Support flexible scheduling to ensure student and programmatic and be an active member of the therapeutic milieu and demonstrate effective application of the essential skills and competencies to prevent and deescalate challenging implement and maintain a classwide system of positive behavior interventions and collaboratively with a Special Educator in a coteaching capacity to plan and design deliver and assess academic lessons and responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee.
