Job Summary: Clinton High School is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable Assistant Volleyball Coach to support the Head Coach in all aspects of the girls volleyball program. The ideal candidate will be passionate about volleyball dedicated to studentathlete development and committed to fostering a positive and competitive team environment. This position will assist in developing players skills implementing game strategies and upholding the values and standards of Clinton High School Athletics.
Key Responsibilities:
Coaching and Instruction:
Assist the Head Coach in planning organizing and conducting practices and training sessions.
Provide individual and group instruction to players on fundamental skills techniques and game strategies.
Help develop and implement offensive and defensive game plans.
Assist in scouting opponents and preparing game strategies accordingly.
Be present and actively coach during all practices games and team events.
Player Development:
Foster a positive and supportive team environment that encourages sportsmanship leadership and academic success.
Motivate and mentor studentathletes to reach their full potential both on and off the court.
Assist in monitoring academic progress of studentathletes in conjunction with school policies.
Game Day Responsibilities:
Assist with pregame preparations including court setup and warmups.
Provide coaching support during matches including making ingame adjustments as directed by the Head Coach.
Assist with postgame duties as needed.
Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience in volleyball at the high school level or higher is preferred.
Playing experience in volleyball at the high school collegiate or club level is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of volleyball fundamentals techniques rules and strategies.
Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire studentathletes.
Commitment to positive coaching principles and ethical conduct.
Must be able to pass a background check and meet all requirements for school district employment.
First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
A valid Oklahoma teaching certificate is a plus but not required.
Availability to attend practices and games which may include evenings weekends and some travel.
