What does a Mechanical Artistdo at Hogarth
As a Mechanical Artist you will be producing mechanicals for our client to be viewed by the world. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of all aspects of print production design and be working alongside a talented team that consists of technical and creative Mechanical Artists Designers and Project Managers. Daily youll be working in a fastpaced fun environment producing printready mechanicals. This is a role for a collaborative individual who is highly organized extremely detailoriented and capable of working with high expectations within flexible and demanding deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with Studio Project Managers and Production Design to accurately implement content across a range of mechanicals
- Practice meticulous attention to detail and follow instructions precisely
- Provide multiple layout solutions when necessary
- Manage a highvolume workload
- Complete relevant checklists for all assigned tasks to ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy
- Create and update mechanical templates with new specifications
- Maintain strict server structure and file organization guidelines
- Manage files and processes (incoming/outgoing naming archiving etc.)
- Consistently adhere to file naming strategies
- Perform qualitycontrol measures on individual and peer work
- Abide by (and enforce) the clients strict confidentiality policies
- Communicate articulately with the team sharing and documenting any issues or knowledge to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Contribute to a continuous improvement work philosophy
Requirements:
- 5 years experience in mechanical production printing and technology
- BA in Graphic Design/Print Media or equivalent
- Prepress background a plus
- Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign Illustrator Acrobat); working knowledge of Photoshop a plus
- Proactive in keeping skills up to date and driving selfimprovement
- Ability to prioritize workload and work both independently and with a team
- Ability to navigate complex processes and tools
- Effective time manager
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Communicate fully effectively and diplomatically
- Proactive solutionoriented thinker
- Comfortable working in a highpressure confidential studio environment

- Flexibility during highvolume periods (some longer hours)
