Job Description

The Erlanger Public Works Department will be accepting applications for a Crew Lead.
This job will be active until Friday May 30 2025 at 5pm.
Position Summary
The Public Works Crew Lead is responsible for maintaining and repairing various types of property owned by the City of Erlanger by performing the following duties/work tasks as directed. Additional duties/work tasks may be assigned as deemed necessary by department supervision to include but not limited to coordination/supervision of other team members on assigned work tasks.

Essential Functions
  • Serve as team/project leader as directed
  • Manage department infrastructure software as directed
  • Maintain files project files and completes reports as directed
  • Operate all vehicles/equipment in accordance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Assist with invoicing and departmental budget management/forecasting
  • Assists with coordination and management of snow teams and snow removal program
  • Assist with development of department Standard Operating Procedures
  • Coordination and management of special projects/operations to include but not limited to all Citywide programs
  • Provide support to departmental park planning
  • Manage department safety training
  • Prepare and manage employee evaluations
  • Responsibilities include: interviewing hiring and training employees; planning assigning and directing work; appraising performance rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems

Certificates and Licenses
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Must obtain/maintain CDL Class A with Air Brake Endorsement
  • Must obtain/maintain Basic Flagger and Work Zone Certifications
  • Must adhere to all Citywide policies and procedures

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently exposed to wet and humid conditions and outside weather conditions. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and high precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
