Job Description

Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) is a unique Indigenous Institute recognized by community government and institutions of higher learning as a Centre of Excellence for Indigenous Knowledge. SNP offers postsecondary secondary trades education and training. SNP has formal partnerships with nine publicly funded Ontario Universities and Colleges and collaborates with six Ontariobased Indigenous owned and controlled postsecondary Institutes.

At the SNPSTEAM ACADEMY students earn a high school diploma an industryrecognized college diploma and gain relevant work experience in their field of study. The school creates a seamless program for students to acquire the academic technical and workplace skills and knowledge that employers need.


Function & Overview
Reporting to the Principal In addition to being certified to teach Cayuga language at a secondary school
level the Teacher will be experienced in workbased learning and will participate in continuing
professional development opportunities to support STEAM Academy programming. The Teacher is
required to perform all duties consistent with the governance values and operating policies of Six Nations
Polytechnic (SNP) while fostering positive relations with staff students stakeholders and the community;
contributing to a culturally supportive teaching learning and work environment consistent with
Hodinsh:nih/Rotinonhson:ni values of Ganigohi:yo:/Kanikoriio (Respect and the Good Mind).

Criminal Record Check

The Teacher will be required to provide an original Criminal Background check vulnerable sector screening that is satisfactory to Six Nations Polytechnic (SNP) prior to the first day of work at STEAM Academy and every three (3) years thereafter and an Offence Declaration that is satisfactory to SNP by August 31 every year in between which they are employed by Six Nations Polytechnic.
