We are seeking an Administrative Billing Specialist in our Finance Department

The Administrative Billing Specialist will work closely with the Finance team and service departments to ensure timely and accurate billing. The Administrative Specialist (Billing) will not have a direct report and the principle contacts will be: Organizational management and staff individuals served vendors commercial insurance companies and governmental organizations.

Accountabilities of an Administrative Billing Specialist in Finance

  • Knowledge of claims submission process electronic health record (EHR) systems and various systems used for billing
  • Processes organizational billing with accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Participates as a team member of centralized billing unit including attending weekly/month reconciliation meetings as scheduled
  • Researches claims rejection problems and denials and does follow up as needed.
  • Downloads and maintains billing authorizations and updates changes in EHR from external databases
  • Tracks accounts receivables and monitors clients needing corrections to authorizations to ensure billing can be done
  • Processes invoices posts payments and completes banking deposits
  • Submits information to outside contacts and databases to ensure service locations are updated as needed to ensure billing accuracy

Expectations of an Administrative Billing Specialist in Finance

  • Strong communication including writing speaking and active listening
  • Great customer service skills including interpersonal conversation patience and empathy
  • Good problemsolving and critical thinking skills
  • Indepth knowledge of industry best practices
  • Basic math bookkeeping and accounting skills

The tools you need:

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Associate degree in accounting healthcare administration or health information management preferred
  • Certified Professional Biller Certified Professional Coder or Certified Medical Reimbursement Certification a plus but not required
  • Vaccination against Covid19
  • PA/NJ/DE Drivers license
