Moran Assistant Superintendent of Human ResourcesSUBJECT: Special Education Coordinator Specialized Learning K12 for SYIt is requested that the following information be brought to the attention of all teaching and administrative personnel in the Brockton Public : least five years of successful teaching and/or leadership experience in the administration of Special Education for students with specific learning disabilities languagebased learning disabilities and/or emotional impairments. working knowledge of disabilities including best practices in accommodations modifications adaptations and specialized with MA Curriculum Frameworks and district curriculum programs. and knowledge of MCAS Portfolio with creating and providing professional leadership skills in organization developing goals best instructional practices communication problem solving and DESE Certification as an Administrator of Special Education required. Responsibilities: special education staff assigned to specialized learning (emotional impairment and/or Social Emotional Learning) classrooms and programs within the district including the public therapeutic day school and Stabilization and monitor the implementation of classroom instruction and student learning within the general education classrooms and programs for students with specialized learning the inclusion of students with disabilities in general education classrooms and programs as determined by the students Special Education in the recruitment and interview process for specialized learning teaching and support in the compilation of statistical data required by the staff meetings with special education staff assigned to specialized learning (specific learning disabilities language based learning disabilities and emotional impairment) classrooms and and supervise a smooth transition for eligible students with specialized learning disabilities throughout the district. and coordinate professional development for specialized learning in the development of department and building based special education other duties as assigned by the Associate Director of Exceptional :1.25 ratio/10 months plus 2 weeksWorkday: 8:00 a.m. 4:00 to: Assistant Directors of Special Education
