Description

The University of Tennessee Foundation Inc. (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of Assistant Director of Content Communicationsfor the University of Tennessee Knoxville. Reporting to the Director of Content Communications the Assistant Director of Content Communications is responsible for producing compelling materials that highlight the impact of private support; showcase the achievements of alumni donors and the university; promote alumni engagement with the university; and contribute to enhancing the universitys reputation.

This position plays a key role in supporting the Division of Advancement by developing and editing highquality content and strategic storytelling.



Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Content Creation & Strategy:Write and edit compelling feature stories profiles news and content that highlights the impact of donors alumni and university initiatives ensuring alignment with Advancement branding and messaging. Research and create content for Advancement publications including stories of donor impact fundraising proposals and other communications tailored to specific audiences.

Alumni and Donor Engagement: Conduct interviews with external and internal university constituenciesincluding alumni donors students faculty staff or parentsto understand their stories involvement and UT experience ensuring key information testimonials and newsworthy angles are captured. Lead the production of key donor communication pieces including writing and editing content for newsletters donor impact reports proposals and other materials showcasing Advancements impact and donor support.

Content Editing: Review and edit content ensuring alignment with the universitys brand tone and style guidelines. Ensure that all materials are clear engaging and aligned with the goals of the division supporting alumni engagement and fundraising efforts. Contribute to the success of key storytelling projects by offering editorial support and collaborating on content development. Work closely with the Director and team members to maintain the highest standards in writing editing and storytelling across all Advancement communications.



Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

The candidate who fills the Assistant Director of Content Communications position is required to have:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 3 of experience in journalism communications public relations or related field
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Excellent writing skills and creative thinking

Note Candidates holding a graduate degree must have at least 1 year of experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

In addition to meeting the required qualifications the preferred candidate will have:

  • Masters degree
  • Higher education work experience
