This position will be responsible for supporting all aspects of Accounting Policys work including: supporting our operational accounting teams by researching and applying US and International accounting standards to unique business transactions developing and updating formal accounting policies supporting organization wide training initiatives and managing all aspects of communications to our stakeholders. This role will require significant collaboration with internal stakeholders.
Key job responsibilities
Partner and collaborate with key stakeholders by researching and applying US GAAP to unique significant and/or nonroutine transactions.
Ensure appropriate documentation of accounting and reporting conclusions for complex highly judgmental business transactions involving revenue arrangements leases business combinations stockbased compensation investments and VIEs and consolidation.
Develop maintain and publish Amazons corporate wide accounting policies and assist with the application of these policies.
Develop and support organization wide training initiatives.
Manage accounting projects on an adhoc basis.
Actively coach and develop staff on Amazons operational accounting teams.
5 years of finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
Demonstrated ability to draft technical accounting positions in plain English
Experience researching and documenting support for accounting conclusions
Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
CPA
Experience working in or with the national office of an accounting firm
Expertise with the application of US and International GAAP to unique or complex business transactions
Demonstrated ability to draft technical accounting positions in plain English
Aptitude for influencing and galvanizing others to follow you toward a solution

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $85900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $179500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
