Job Description

Job Title: Spirit Coordinator

Department: Athletics/Student Activities
Reports To: Athletic Director and Assistant Superintendent of Support Services
FLSA Status: Exempt
Position Type: FullTime

Position Summary:

The Spirit Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and supporting the cheer and dance programs at both the High School and Junior High levels. This individual will work collaboratively with coaches school administration and the athletic department to ensure consistency continuity and excellence across all spirit programs. The Spirit Coordinator will serve as a liaison and resource to foster program alignment promote positive student experiences and uphold the values and expectations of the school district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the operations of the High School and Junior High cheer and dance teams.
  • Provide support guidance and mentorship to individual cheer and dance coaches throughout the year.
  • Develop and implement a unified vision and set of expectations for all spirit programs in alignment with district goals and school culture.
  • Organize and facilitate regular meetings with coaches to promote collaboration and share best practices.
  • Assist with recruitment selection and onboarding of cheer and dance coaches.
  • Collaborate with coaches on practice schedules performance planning gameday coordination and event participation.
  • Ensure consistent standards for tryouts uniforms choreography safety and student eligibility across schools.
  • Foster positive school spirit through the coordination of pep rallies community events and collaborative performances.
  • Advocate for the needs of the spirit programs in budget planning facility use and scheduling.
  • Serve as the primary contact for parent communication and conflict resolution regarding the cheer and dance programs.
  • Attend key performances games and competitions as a district representative.
  • Ensure compliance with district state and national regulations (e.g. NFHS AAA guidelines).

Qualifications:

  • Experience coaching or coordinating cheer dance or other spiritrelated programs at the school or collegiate level.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and support adult staff and student participants.
  • Knowledge of safety guidelines and best practices in cheer and dance activities.
  • Passion for promoting school spirit inclusion and student development.
  • Availability to attend events during evenings and weekends as needed.

Requirements:

  • Must have a current Arkansas teaching license and certification.
  • Teaching or administrative experience in a school setting.
  • Successful completion of preemployment background checks.
