Minimum Qualifications:
High School/ GED Plus one (1) year work experience healthcare and/or personal care
Good communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Basic computer skills
Telephone etiquette and
General knowledge of office machines including printers fax machines and scanners.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology
Preferred Qualifications:
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification
Additional Information:
Employees in this role must be fitted for capable of donning and performing routine tasks in personal protective equipment to include N95 masks Powered Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR) or Controlled Air Purifying Respirators (CAPR).
Responsibilities:
Obtains the patients height weight blood pressure pulse temperature respirations and chief complaint and records the data in the EMR.
Assists patients to the laboratory and radiology for diagnostic testing.
Collects laboratory specimens as ordered by a physician.
Performs EKGs as ordered by physicians.
Sets up equipment for testing or treatment that is to be performed by the License Practical Nurse or a Provider.
Assist physicians with procedures i.e. pelvic exams and minor surgical procedures including but not limited to removal of ingrown toenails removal of skin lesions and closure of minor lacerations.
Schedule followup appointments as ordered by the Provider or per standing orders
Schedule referral appointments as ordered by the Provider
Enter orders for labs referrals and testing as ordered by the Provider
Supervises the maintenance and cleaning of medical equipment
Cleans rinses packages and utilizes the autoclave to sterilize instruments.
Performs extension of benefits for patients with Medicare insurance as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
