We currently have 2 openings for IT Contracts Specialists
This position is eligible for hybrid telework and will be required to be onsite three days per week
Recruitment Range:Up to $80749The IT Contracts Specialistwill be responsible for developing reviewing analyzing evaluating and approving highlevel complex and Projectdesignated IT requests and solicitation documents for State entities. This employee will utilize available procurement resources and best procurement practices; utilize technical writing skills and procurement lifecycle knowledge to review and approve documents developed by State entities.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing editing and making recommendations on IFBs RFQs and Amendments(s)
- Overseeing the evaluation of offers and award recommendations
- Establishing and maintaining contracts
- Assisting in the resolution of contract disputes
- Interpreting applicable laws rules and policies to agency personnel contractors and Vendors
- Conducting market research to stay abreast of changes in technology
- Building and maintaining strategic work relationships across multiple agencies and with external organizations contractors and vendors
About the Division
The NC Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. Within NCDIT is the Statewide IT Procurement Office (SITPO). SITPO is an oversight entity of major specialized IT purchases and contract functions and serves a client base of state and local government agencies as well as schools colleges and universities.

To qualify for this position applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following:
- Demonstrated experience applying general statutes administrative codes and/or procedures to assist in the preparation of solicitation documents
- Demonstrated experience drafting and/or writing procurement documents simple contract provisions and/or supporting documentation
- Demonstrated experience reviewing and/or commenting on procurement documentation
- Demonstrated experience in ensuring compliance with file management requirements and/or state records retention policies
The following Management Preferences are not required but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:
- Experience in purchasing or procurement in a government entity
- Experience negotiating contracts
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelors degree in business or related area from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible experience in the area of procurement and contract administration related to the solicitation negotiation and award of contracts preferably in information technology and/or public sector environments;
or
Associate degree in business or related area from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in the area of procurement and contract administration related to the solicitation negotiation and award of contracts preferably in information technology and/or public sector environments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Supplemental and Contact Information

If you do not currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned duty station new hires are granted up to 120 days from their start date to relocate.
