We currently have 2 openings for IT Contracts Specialists

This position is eligible for hybrid telework and will be required to be onsite three days per week


The IT Contracts Specialistwill be responsible for developing reviewing analyzing evaluating and approving highlevel complex and Projectdesignated IT requests and solicitation documents for State entities. This employee will utilize available procurement resources and best procurement practices; utilize technical writing skills and procurement lifecycle knowledge to review and approve documents developed by State entities.

About the Division

The NC Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. Within NCDIT is the Statewide IT Procurement Office (SITPO). SITPO is an oversight entity of major specialized IT purchases and contract functions and serves a client base of state and local government agencies as well as schools colleges and universities.

About the Organization

The N.C. Department of Information Technology (NCDIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. Services that NCDIT provides reach a client base of state and local government agencies as well as schools colleges and universities. NCDITs mission is to enable trusted businessdriven solutions that meet the needs of North Carolinians. NCDIT provides technology services to state agencies and is charged with closing the digital divide by expanding availability of broadband services and promoting the adoption of affordable highspeed internet.

The following Management Preferences are not required but applicants that possess these skills are preferred:

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in business or related area from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressively responsible experience in the area of procurement and contract administration related to the solicitation negotiation and award of contracts preferably in information technology and/or public sector environments;
or
Associate degree in business or related area from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of experience in the area of procurement and contract administration related to the solicitation negotiation and award of contracts preferably in information technology and/or public sector environments; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

REMOTE WORK:
At NCDIT we are dedicated to fostering a collaborative and flexible work environment offering a hybrid remote work option for positions that are conducive to remote flexibility. If you do not currently reside within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned duty station new hires are granted up to 120 days from their start date to relocate.
