Middleborough High School seeks a History Teacher Grades 912 to fill a temporary position in the history and social science department. The successful candidate will have experience planning implementing and adapting curriculum based on the 2018 Massachusetts History and Social Science Curriculum Framework. The successful candidate will set high expectations for students and employ differentiation to support all learners. As a professional the successful candidate will display a collegial spirit which supports and enhances continual professional growth consistent with educational goals and a general understanding of alternative education. Moreover the successful candidate will fully embrace a growth mindset; and as a reflective practitioner will employ informal means as well as meetings with teams and work groups to gather information analyze data examine issues set meaningful goals and develop best practices in order to improve teaching and learning which is committed to working together to ensure that all students position will be from August 27 2025 June 2026. Collaborate with all team members including but not limited to Futures Academy coordinator department leader special educators instructional coaches paraprofessionals and other support students regularly and refine and differentiate classroom instruction based on assessment data and student instruction to a variety of students enrolled in History and/or Social Science courses grades and implement differentiated lesson plans classroom activities and assessments aligned with Massachusetts State Standards and current history classroom of historical reasoning skills in the to employ effective 1:1 classroom technology regularly with students and involve families as partners in strong classroom management knowledge and familiarity of alternative education setting and consistent communication and interpersonal skills with both students and staff the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working a strong work ethic enthusiasm positive attitude and sincere interest in supporting the achievement of all Futures Academy students required.
