Responsibilities & Requirements

The Kettering Health Medical Group (KHMG) Director of Medical Group Provider Contracting will report directly to the KHMG Chief Financial Officer to manage the Contracting departments physician and advance practice provider (APP) employment contract initiatives and function as a primary liaison with KHMG clinicians. This role will include directing the contracting department with a specific focus on contract development compliance checks team development process improvement and obtaining executive approvals as needed. The Director will lead out and manage our compensation reviews with each service line in accordance with 2 year review cycle. The Director of Contracting will be involved with all steps in the initiation or revision of a contract: compensation development contract term development protocol creation/revision negotiation explanation and communication with providers and representation to leadership. The director will be the main point of contact for providers operational leaders recruitment finance compliance legal and the Kettering Health Executive team. The director will use the information provided by these groups to create directives for the Contracting team so that work is done efficiently and prioritized accordingly.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Required: Masters degree required in relevant field (Healthcare Admin Business Finance etc.)
  • Optional: Project Management Professional (PMP).

Experience:

  • 5 years of healthcare experience.
  • 3 years of experience in provider contracting recruitment or similar field.

Essential Functions:

  • Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with KHMG physicians and APPs by promptly answering contractrelated questions and ensuring KHMG contracts are properly routed and managed in accordance with KHMG policies and procedures. Organization: Excellent organization skills ability to accept change and constructive feedback and ability to provide professional services to all customers.
  • Contract Negotiation: Proactively facilitate physician and APP contract discussions.
  • Availability: Be available during early morning and evening times to meet with physicians and APPs as needed. Travel locally as needed.
  • Executive Reporting: Represent all contracting items to KHMG Contracting Exec Council and KHMG Exec Council.
  • External Department Collaboration: KHMG Representative for outside advisement with Gallagher
  • Contract Team representative for all existing and newly proposed standardized compensation models with internal Compliance team.
  • Team Leadership: Effective in the development and management of action plans in support of strategic objectives.
  • Team Development: Takes action to support Paralegal team and make choices in collaboration with KHMG leadership to improve their work and provide recognition for work that is already being done.
  • Process Improvement: Review how contractings existing process matches with KH goals and upcoming executive decisions.
  • Policy/Protocol Enhancement: work with finance recruitment and other departments to ensure that updated contracts and protocols are able to be implemented as planned.

Skilled in:

  • Superior interpersonal communication skills and customerservice friendly attitude.
  • Effective in written and oral communication organizing work and setting priorities to accomplish multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Effectively collaborate with KHMG colleagues including but not limited to Recruitment Finance HR Quality Operations and other internal stakeholders.
  • Support effective communication with key stakeholders including physicians and APPs regarding contract terms and status updates of contract amendments.

Knowledge of:

  • Solid knowledge in physician and healthcare contracts and physician recruitment/relationships.
  • Ability to utilize contract management software to input track and complete tasks.
