This position is locally funded.

Consideration for directly related experience supported by an official service record or experience affidavit. Annualized pay may be prorated based on actual start date.

Position Summary

Direct and manage assigned areas ofinstructional program and campus student activities and services.

Minimum Requirements

  • Masters Degree.
  • Valid Texas MidManagement Supervisor or Principal Certification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years campus level administrative experience or curriculum/instruction leadership.
  • Current Certification in or ability to obtain:Advanced Education Leadership (AEL) certification Instructional Leadership Training (ILT) or Instructional Leadership Development (ILD) and TTESS appraiser certification.
  • Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Nonrefundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the candidate.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two yearsofexperience as a classroom teacher.

Essential Functions/Key Responsibilities

  • Encourage and support development of innovative instructional programs helping teachers pilot such efforts when in program evaluation measures and make suggestions for improvement where needed.
  • Reinforce expectations for staff performance with regard to instructional strategies and classroom management.
  • Foster collegiality and team building among staff members. Encourage their active involvement in decisionmaking process.
  • Take a leadership role in planning activities and implementing programs to ensure attainment of the schools mission.
  • Participate in development of campus improvement plans with staff parents and community members.
  • Help principal develop maintain and use information systems to maintainrecords andtrack progress on campus performance objectives and academic excellence indicators.
  • Overseecampusoperations in principals absence.
  • Take a leadership role in planning and scheduling ofdaily school activitiesincludingthe development of class schedules teacher assignments and extracurricular activity schedules.
  • Overseereporting and monitoring of student attendance and work withstaffto identify and address issues.
  • Work with department heads and faculty to compile annual budget requests based on documented program needs.
  • Requisition supplies textbooks and equipment and monitor and maintain inventory in accordance with district procedures.
  • Coordinateoperational support services such astransportation custodial and cafeteria to best meet campus needs.
  • Comply with district policies state and federal laws and regulations affecting schools.
  • Observe employee performance record observations andconduct evaluation conferencesas neededfor designated teacher appraisal system.
  • Assist principal in interviewing selecting and orienting new staff.
  • Articulate the schools mission to community and solicit its support in realizingthemission.
  • Demonstrate awareness of schoolcommunity needs and initiateactivities to meet those needs usingappropriate and effective techniques to encourage community and parent involvement.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Superviseand evaluate the work ofprofessional staffas assigned by theschool the work ofteachers custodians paraprofessionals clerical personnel and others as assigned.

Working Conditions

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals.

Posture:Frequent walking Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping pushing/pulling and twisting.

Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse. Occasional reaching.

Lifting:Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).

Environment: Work inside may work outside; regular exposure to noise.

Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions and prolonged or irregular hours.
