Job Description

This position is located in Upper Marlboro MD.

The core working hours are flexible with a hybrid schedule one day a week in the office but available for meetings between 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
This is a full time position offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

A proposal writer for government and commercial proposals specifically for federal state and local agencies. Work will be focused on Facility Services Operations and Maintenance (O&M) projects and some Information Technology bids. A Subject Matter Expert will be available to help with ITrelated proposals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in crafting winning proposals for O&M contracts experience with GSA Schedule contracts and capable of submitting Information Technology proposals. Also the ideal candidate will be skilled in managing the proposal process from end to end including submitting proposals in the proper format. This role involves close collaboration with multiple business units especially operations contracts legal and pricing.

The position requires fiveyears of experience in proposal writing and proficiency in Word Excel SharePoint Adobe Acrobat and PowerPoint. This will be a hybrid position with one day a week in the office.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Collaborates with leadership and other Melwood division/departments to develop and articulate compelling clear and measurable cases seeking support of governmental agencies corporations foundations and individual donors.

Attention to detail to create well written compliant proposals. Submit on time with required internal coordination

Gather content from a variety of sources and put into a coherent package with onevoice and consistent themes throughout the proposal

Develop proposal content around unique solutions outcomes and benefits based on a win strategy.

Lead meetings to tasks business units to help provide content for the development of compelling proposals. Establish due dates to ensure content is received.

Write revise and edit drafts of Federal Government proposal responses (including executive summaries; technical and management approaches; past performance; and personnel qualifications/resumes)

Edit documents and technical literature prepared by other staff members for content coverage clarity and voice consistency recommending revisions and editorial standards as appropriate.

Support the creation of Requests for Information (RFIs) responses and similar documentation.

Researches and writes position papers or case for support articulating business needs

Take primary responsibility in responding to RFPs and writing professional and compelling grants proposals letters of inquiry applications and other matters related to business needs

Works in cooperation with the Finance Department which will have primary responsibility for grants management; and ensures internal grants management.

Assists with other research and writing assignments as assigned in areas such as advocacy or public relations.

Attend applicable events including legislative events to elevate public awareness/relations.

Other duties (as assigned): Support pipeline development attend conferences site visits occasionally etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Communications English Technical Writing or Marketing

Possesses at least five (5) years of professional experience in grant writing.

Demonstrated exceptional grammar and research skills are essential.

Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities and certification in grant writing or nonprofit management is a plus but not required.

Must have a valid drivers license with clean driving record as driving is required.

Attention to detail reading and determining key points of a RFP RFQ or other government or commercial solicitation.

Writing clearly. Formatting to present a professional looking document for submission
