Job Description

The Town of Falmouth is currently seeking educators and youth development professionals to work as Seasonal Head Summer Counselors for our Recreation Departments 7week Summer Adventure Program. These positions start with a mandatory training on June 25 2025 and June 26 2025 and work June 30 2025 through August 15 2025 Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. (with an 8 a.m. start on Mondays for a weekly staff meeting). Applicants who cannot commit to a 5day per week schedule are encouraged to apply and to note their availability in their Head Summer Counselors lead and supervise the Seasonal Summer Counselors to ensure the effective delivery of daily activities for Falmouth youth entering grades 1 through 6 including arts crafts sports teambuilding exercises and outings. These positions: as a mentor and role model for both youth and staff promoting respect responsibility and positive communication. an inclusive and welcoming environment that promotes engagement and personal development. and implement engaging activities. clear expectations and monitor participation and behavior ensuring a safe supportive and respectful environment while proactively addressing any issues. with parents/guardians as needed. with administrative tasks including scheduling recordkeeping and incident reporting. all program policies and safety procedures to maintain a secure environment for all participants. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree in education recreation child development or related field and a minimum of three years of experience working with children in a camp classroom or recreational setting; or any equivalent combination of education training or experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position. Leadership and/or supervisory experience must be CPR certified or be able to obtain certification through Townsponsored training and be able to pass preemployment CORI and SORI background checks. The pay for this position is $23.48/hour to $28.54/hour commensurate with qualifications and experience.
