PRIMARY PURPOSE:
To assist and support the efficient operation of the Special Education Department by helping the staff provide with appropriate curriculum based activities and experiences that fulfill their Individual Education Plans for students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Utilize personal computer and software; communicate effectively (verbal and written); utilize effective interpersonal skills
Experience:
One (1) year of experience with clerical responsibilities preferred
Clerical/Technical Pay Structure:Pay Grade CT01
Pay Date: Monthly
Hourly Pay Range:
Minimum: $13.00
Midpoint: $15.60
Maximum: $18.20
Note:Starting pay for a new hire in a pay range plan will be determined individually based on each persons jobrelated experience and salaries paid to peer employees in the same position with similar experience.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Prepare reports forms and correspondence for assigned area of responsibility.
2. Maintain records and files required for assigned area of responsibility.
3. Assist with the management of incoming telephone calls according to the designated priority plan.
4. Respond to requests for information service or materials from campus and support staff.
5. Respond to requests from other agencies or school districts according to procedures.
6. Assist parents and others who visit the Special Education Office.
7. Technology Inventory for Special Education Department.
8. Keep the immediate supervisor informed regarding the status on all project/services under taken and of directive or requests received internally or externally.
9. Follow McAllen ISD customer service standards.
10. Perform other duties assigned by immediate supervisor (primary evaluator).
