Job Description
Overview
i3 is seeking a Jr. Network Engineer to provide technical support on an Army contract support the CCDC AvMC. This position is located in Huntsville AL.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of the Linux Operating System via Command line to support Cisco network device configuration updates and backups
- Conduct daytoday system administration of the hardware and software for a modeling and simulation (M&S) system
- Supports building configuring and troubleshooting software and hardware enhancements application deployments and infrastructure upgrades
- Strong oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with Network Engineers
- Experience creating network diagrams and proficiency with Microsoft Visio
- Operations support: Five days a week providing daily support for development and operation assets and willing to travel (domestic and foreign sites approximately 25%)
Qualifications
- Certifications: Candidates must comply with the experience training and certification requirements for IATII level certification such as Security CE. Higherlevel IATII certifications such as CCNA will also fulfill this requirement.
- Experience: 25 years of relevant network engineering experience (installation and configuration of any levels of network devices such as firewalls switches routers cabling)
- Education: A Bachelors degree in computer science engineering or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience and certifications will also be considered.
- Security Clearance: Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance.
- Motivated has attention to detail and takes initiative.
Preferred Requirements:
- Best practices and implementation of installation configuration of Palo Alto Next gen firewalls and Panorama
- Knowledge of multicast / unicast traffic flow
- Understanding of GM and Theater message flow
- Cisco design and best practices
- Understand Ports Protocols and Services Management and Category Assurance List workflows
- Experience with RHEL System Administration
