Job Title: Adult Education GED TeacherPartTime*APPLY Online: Application PortalFullTime Position: 35 hours per week*PartTime Position: Hours to be determined based on program needsPosition Summary:The Adult Education GED Teacher is responsible for providing engaging targeted instruction to adult learners seeking to obtain their General Educational Development (GED) credential. The teacher will assess students individual needs develop lesson plans aligned with GED standards and support learners in achieving their educational and workforce goals. This position requires a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for adult students with diverse backgrounds and educational of Employment:Bachelors degree in education or a related teaching adult learners or working in an educational setting. Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office) and online learning to administer and interpret standardized Qualifications:Masters degree in education or a related Arkansas teaching license or Adult Education teaching preparing students for the GED or other high school equivalency tests. Knowledge of the TABE assessment and GED Ready practice and Responsibilities:Instructional Delivery:Plan and deliver lessons in core GED subject areas: Language Arts Math Science and Social instruction to accommodate various learning styles academic levels and workforce readiness and digital literacy skills into the a variety of teaching methods including technologybased and handson learning to promote engagement and and Progress Monitoring:Administer and interpret assessments such as the TABE to determine student placement and student performance and adjust instructional strategies to address learning accurate and uptodate records of attendance assessments and student Support:Provide individualized instruction and tutoring to help students overcome challenges in their learning and support students in setting and achieving personal academic and workforce students with resources for addressing barriers such as transportation childcare or access to Management:Foster a respectful inclusive and supportive classroom environment. Encourage active participation and collaboration among compliance with program policies and safety and Professional Development:Work with staff and administrators to ensure program alignment with state and federal in professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in adult to program initiatives such as outreach and community partnerships. Required Skills and Abilities:Strong knowledge of GED subject areas and adult learning principles. Ability to plan and deliver engaging standardsbased with educational technology and digital learning verbal and written communication interpersonal and organizational to work with diverse populations including students with varying skill levels and Conditions:This position typically operates in a classroom environment with occasional evening or weekend hours to accommodate student needs.
