Job Description

Number of Beds : 12beds Patient Ratios : 11 12 13 (depends on patient acuity) Unit staffing description (Charge nurse typically out of the numbers unit secretary available on most days staff RNs) : Type of equipment : Phillips monitoring system Edwards Hemosphere Alaris IV pumps Documentation system: Meditech Scheduling requirements: Rotating weekends (weekends are considered F Sa Sun) Floating policy: May be required to float outside of the department for hospital needs (e.g. ICU stepdown ICU PCU) Patient Experience requirements: Exceptional bedside manner able to communicate effectively with patients and families able to multitask and interact with other members of the interdisciplinary Specifics Certifications: BLS ACLS NIHSSAdvanced skills needed: Able to safely care for patients requiring mechanical ventilation titrate vasoactive medications and other drips as required to maintain hemodynamic parameters and/or sedation requirements competent in recognizing and responding to changes in patient condition. The ideal candidate should be comfortable managing advanced access devices (e.g. aline CVCs Swanganz catheters etc.) working in a team atmosphere and working collaboratively with members of the interdisciplinary team. Procedures performed on unit: CABG AVR TAVR Watchman Afib cardiac ablations VATS PCI with stent Hemodynamic support with IABP and Impella devices etc.
