The East Central Ohio ESC is seeking a qualified Intervention Specialist to work with students in an alternative setting. Individual will be responsible for promotingthe education of students requiring a different learning plan by planning and tailoring courses of study monitoring progress managing academic efforts and providing a safe environment conducive to learning.*Positions are available in Belmont County.
Educates students by planning and developing course of study according to home district/curriculum guidelines and state requirements Prepares the assigned classroom and requisitions supplies/equipment as needed Teaches scheduled classes documents performance objectives and creates effective learning experiences Implements effective pupil management procedures and maintains a high code of conduct Develops and maintains a positive learning environment to stimulate student interest; works with parents and staff to understand academic and behavioral objectives Evaluates the needs of students based on all information available; varies teaching techniques to address individual learning styles Proctors standardized and alternative tests as directed Maintains accurate records and submits reports on time Evaluates student achievement/performance and assigns grades; prepares progress reports and consults with parents as needed Watches for problem situations and works with supervisors and other staff to eliminate unacceptable conditions and/or behaviors Makes referrals for student assistance/intervention when a need is indicated; meets mandated deadlines for required paperwork Tailors course of study by developing modifications for several levels of academic ability and previous achievement Develops and presents lesson plans by using a variety of techniques including lectures projects exhibits audiovisual computers etc. Monitors and grades student results by preparing assignments and tests for inschool preparation and homework; conducts standardized tests in accordance with district policies and state law Maintains order in the classroom by counseling students with behavioral problems; consults with other professionals where there appears to be evidence of learning disabilities drug or alcohol abuse problems of social adjustment or child abuse Maintains safe secure and healthy educational environment by establishing following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Keeps district informed by maintaining records of academic performance; reports on all elements of student development Provides student support services by monitoring study periods lunch or other activities Updates job knowledge by attending staff meetings; participates in educational opportunitiesRequired Experience:
