Job Description

Anticipated Hiring Range: $95000$105000 per year

Work Hours:Monday Friday 8:00am 5:00 pm occasional evenings and weekends

THE DEPARTMENT:

The Division of University Advancement is one of five central divisions of the university whose primary purpose is to enhance the private support and knowledge of the university. This is accomplished by initiating programs events and activities that stimulate the involvement and interest of alumni friends parents corporations and foundations to develop relationships that will foster and stimulate giving to the university. The Office of the Vice President of University Advancement oversees the offices of development alumni and external relations government and external relations advancement services and annual giving. The division manages and operates the Cal Poly Pomona Philanthropic Foundation which serves as the official entity to receive and manage all contributions to the University. Under the telework policy it is understood that your physical presence may be required on individual scheduled remote days based on the needs of the campus division department or request of your HEERA Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MultiChannel Fundraising & Digital Engagement

  • Design implement and manage annual giving campaigns across diverse channels including direct mail email and digital platforms.
  • Oversee the coordination and execution of giving days and crowdfunding initiatives utilizing platforms like Scalefunder and others to drive donations.
  • Cultivate engage and steward volunteer fundraisers helping them maximize their impact and broaden donor engagement.
  • Lead the strategy and execution of personalized video campaigns donor texting and email outreach through tools such as ThankView and other digital platforms.
  • Analyze fundraising performance and engagement metrics to continually improve and optimize digital fundraising efforts.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract firsttime donors reengage lapsed donors and deepen relationships with current donors while increasing the overall donor base and gift levels year over year. Continuously evaluate campaign performance to identify opportunities for cost reduction and increased fundraising impact while collaborating with campus partners vendors and external collaborators to maximize return on investment (ROI).

Staff Supervision & Operational Management

  • Manage the recruitment training performance and professional development of the Annual Giving Specialist
  • Ensure staff receives proper training about campus division and department policies and procedures
  • Set and manage meaningful performance objectives to foster ongoing growth; Document performance and promote professional development opportunities
  • Develop and mentor direct reports to meet advancement division priorities
  • Analyze department process/procedures to improve work efficiencies
  • Track expenses and help ensure that revenue and expense budgets are on target
  • Building Pipelines
  • Engage and retain Class Gift donors through targeted outreach strategic stewardship and ongoing communication.
  • Create and implement innovative philanthropy strategies to engage a variety of key stakeholder groups within the Cal Poly Pomona community such as students parents alumni friends and other special initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Development Officers to integrate key prospects into annual giving campaigns and foster deeper donor relationships to support donor renewal and retention.
  • Build and maintain a robust donor pipeline using segmentation strategies to identify and target specific cohorts including alumni faculty/staff and other community members with an eye toward longterm engagement and increased support. Utilize datadriven insights to analyze donor behavior recognize patterns and identify opportunities for growth in donor retention acquisition and increased giving levels.

Employee & Student Giving Programs

  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive employee giving program focused on increasing participation from faculty and staff.
  • Lead student philanthropy efforts including overseeing the Class Gift Campaign and other student focused giving initiatives.
  • Partner with key campus stakeholders to recruit and engage students faculty and staff in philanthropic efforts that strengthen community ties and enhance the culture of giving at Cal Poly Pomona.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Minimum three years of experience in development/annual giving or equivalent.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills with demonstrated experience in personally soliciting gifts.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding initiative work organization and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends; travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with a mix of faculty parents alumni and staff colleagues.
  • Knowledge of modern data management practices and techniques including models of analysis that lead to effective decision making on behalf of the program.
  • Driver License Valid and in State Required


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Higher education development experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of annual giving campaigns and individual giving programs such as direct mail Phonathon and personal solicitation programs is preferred.
  • Experience in initiating and securing high volume of development visits preferred.

CSU Classification Salary Range

The CSU Classification Standards for this position are located on theCSU Classification Standards CSU Salary Schedule is located on theCSU Salary Schedule website. The classification salary range for this position according to the respective skill level is: minimum $4135 and maximum $12288 per month. University Driving Requirement

Positions that require driving for university business by using a personal or state vehicle must comply with the Authorized University Driver Policy. Driving records are monitored and evaluated by the Risk Management Department. The Risk Management Department evaluates a good driving report based on the following criteria. The driver must: 1. Have a valid California or other State Drivers license. 2. Have no more than 3 motor vehicle violations or been the cause of 3 accidents in a 12month period (or any combination of 3 thereof) 3. Not have more than 3 DMV Points if their license is Class C or 4. Not have more than 5 DMV Points if their license is Class A B or C with endorsements. For more information go to the
