Position Summary: The Assistant Cost Estimator is responsible for identifying qualified suppliers managing RFQ processes tracking supplier responses and maintaining accurate cost estimation records. This role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with internal teams and external suppliers. Key Responsibilities: - Identify and qualify suppliers based on project requirements.
- Manage and coordinate purchasing activities including sending RFQs to vendors and tracking RFQ status.
- Obtain and provide quotes for prototypes and production parts from the supplier base.
- Follow up on RFQs to ensure prompt responses.
- Compile received quotes in a data sheet for future reference.
- Update the current supplier database in the outsource sheet.
- Expand the supplier base to enhance sourcing options.
- Maintain accurate and organized records for future review.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with team members suppliers and clients.
- Perform various estimating department functions including QLM FTI and UGrelated tasks.
Experience: - Preferred experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Industrial purchasing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of tooling is a plus.
Essential Skills: - Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Highly motivated goaloriented and persistent.
- Strong initiative and ability to work well in a team environment.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing industry processes.
- Experience with Plex ERP.
- Ability to read blueprints.
