POSITION SUMMARY:
- The primary purpose of this position is to work directly with classroom teachers on the delivery of highquality instruction
- The instructional coach will work with building administration districtlevel staff and other instructional coaches to strengthen instruction and increase student learning
- The instructional coach will support data findings and provide instructional coaching as an integral part of the instructional team
- This position will be required to have a strong knowledge of effective teaching practices that address differentiated instruction and digital learner
- This position will serve as a liaison between campus and district staff to support and implement district instructional initiatives provide jobembedded professional development and accomplish specific campus/district goals
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with general education certification
- ESL certification(preferred)
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Advanced knowledge of curriculum instructional strategies and best practices
- Strong organizational communication and interpersonal skills
- Classroom management
- Professional learning delivery/facilitation
- Knowledgeof intervention strategies differentiation of instruction and technology integration when modeling for teachers
- Ability to gather interpret and present educational data (e.g. program monitoring documentation of intervention)
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
Experience:
- At least five years of successful teaching experience in the assigned level/subject
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Collaboration & Communication:
- Meet regularly with individual teachers and teams to collaborate and support the delivery ofinstruction
- Develop connections and builds relationships with campus staff
- Work collaboratively with teachers to develop lessons and refine the curriculum
- Serve as a communication link between campus and the Educational Services/Technology Departments
- Alternative methods of instruction
- All other duties as assigned
Instructional Coach:
- Work in collaboration with campus administration content and intervention specialists and othersas part of the campus instructional leadership team
- Exhibit professionalism at all times and see collaborative work as a process to arrive at a solutionthat will aid student learning
- Work collaboratively on an adult team possessing varied learning and teaching styles
Curriculum:
- Ensure the direction goals and objectives of the district are understood and implemented includingthe district Curriculum Management Plan
- Model districtsupported instructional strategies/lessons based on district curriculum
Data:
- Work collaboratively with the campus leadership team to analyze and interpret assessment data toimprove instruction
- Analyze data and facilitate discussions about student/campus/district data with campus leadershipand content/gradelevel teams
- Work closely with teachers using district data to guide instruction to meet identified campus/studentneeds
Professional Growth and Development:
- Plan and facilitate professional learning based on the DISD Curriculum Management Guide and thecampus needs
- Build campus capacity through onsite professional learning based on data analysis
- Mentor teachers
- Attend district meeting and professional learning
- Continue to grow professionally
- Provide professional development to various stakeholder groups in methods of integratingtechnology in the delivery of the curriculum
Technology:
- Understand the digital learner and promote/model digital learning
- Assist in integrating technology
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise assigned instructional paraprofessionals
