Position Summary:
The Senior Scrum Master is responsible for being an essential member of a crossfunctional team which focuses on delivering value to the customer while striving for continuous improvement. The Scrum Master acts as the servant leader and coach for one or more delivery teams within the organization and is critical to team success.
An effective Scrum Master promotes attributes of a high functioning dedicated agile team including perpetuating team dynamics of support and value driven delivery protecting the teams from outside interference removing impediments facilitating Scrum rituals driving continuous improvement and promoting healthy Agile practices within the teams and across the organization. As part of a larger community of agile practitioners he/she is an advocate of Agile practices both within the team and the organization
Responsibilities:
- Ensures Agile teams are practicing the core agile principles of collaboration prioritization team accountability and visibility.
- Shields teams from interference and removes impediments.
- Helps the team become selfmanaged and crossfunctional.
- Fosters a team environment that encourages team members to both seek help from within the team and leanin to help the team achieve sprint goals.
- Supports and educates the Product Owner especially on grooming and maintaining the product backlog.
- Facilitates scrum/agile events.
- Works with team to identify capacity to ensure they can meet the sprint objectives.
- Participates in discussions related to tradeoffs to bring in new work.
- Effectively provides collects and shares data to help the team see information it needs to identify areas where they need to learn and grow and display processes toward desired outcomes.
- Actively participates in the maturation process of the Agile model and methodologies within the organization.
- Manages more than one project at a time.
- Mentors and coaches 24 Scrum Masters.
- Performs other duties and projects assigned
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university is preferred and a minimum of four (4) years experience supporting a team as a Scrum Master.
- Minimum of nine (9) years experience working in a software development organization preferably in an agile environment.
- Scrum Master Certification preferred.
- Experience handling more than one project at a time required.
- Experience working in an iterative Development environment utilizing Scrum practices required.
- Experience with Scrum Lean and/or XP inspired practices required.
- Demonstrates knowledge of adherence to monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position.
- Familiarity with one or more Agile methodologies such as Scrum XP Kanban.
- Willingness to provide direct and honest feedback to team members.
- Excellent facilitation and mentoring skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with all layers of the organization.
- Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- High level of motivation.
- Effective organizational and time management skills.
- Exceptional verbal written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to make decisions that have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and cross functional departments.
- Ability to make informal and formal presentations inside and outside the organization; speaking before assigned team or other groups as needed.
- Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties.

Base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay for this role is between $130000 and $162000 per year. Your base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including your jobrelated knowledge/skills qualifications experience and market location.
