Job Description

Quality Director

The Quality Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the organizations Quality department. This role plays a central role in aligning clinical operational and strategic objectives to ensure exceptional care outcomes programmatic compliance financial incentive attainment and continuous improvement across the organization. The Director will partner with clinical and operational leadership to design and execute the Quality Program build and manage a highperforming quality team drive leanbased continuous improvement efforts and lead patient satisfaction measurement strategies.


Essential Functions

Strategic Leadership

  • In collaboration with clinical and operational leadership develop and execute a comprehensive boardapproved annual Quality Improvement Plan.
  • Align QI strategy with clinical and operational goals.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor and glue between departmentsbridging clinical operational and quality functions.

Team Development & Supervision

  • Lead hire and develop the Quality team including analysts coordinators and program compliance staff.
  • Embed Quality Coordinators within clinical care teams to drive shared accountability and ownership of QI work.
  • Provide mentorship supervision and growth opportunities for quality staff.
  • Promotes values and encourages diversity in hiring for One Community Health staff.

Quality Programs & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with NCQA PCMH Equity and Practice Transformation (EPT) NCQA Health Equity Accreditation HRSA and funder quality program expectations.
  • Maintain organizational readiness for audits accreditation and reporting related to quality.

Performance Improvement & Lean Deployment

  • Champion the use of Lean principles and PDCA (PlanDoCheckAct) methodology across departments.
  • Support operational and clinical leaders to design test and implement interventions that close care gaps and improve workflows.

Data & Analytics

  • Partner with quality analysts to develop dashboards and provide actionable insights for decisionmaking.
  • Translate complex data into clear visualizations and narratives to support strategic direction and board reporting.

Financial Alignment

  • Lead efforts to understand pursue and optimize financial incentives tied to quality improvement (P4P ValueBased Care quality grants).
  • Collaborate with finance and business operations teams to project track and report on incentive performance.

External Relations & Board Engagement

  • Serve as the primary liaison to health plans quality collaboratives and community partners.
  • Represent Quality at the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Committee of the Board.

Patient Experience

  • Oversee administration and analysis of patient satisfaction surveys and ensure improvement initiatives are driven by patient feedback.
  • Administer and facilitate the Patient Advisory Council.
  • Support the development of a culture of continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Oversees Quality Department and directly supervises Quality staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Indepth knowledge of the quality improvement quality assurance and clinical operations of medical clinics and healthcare systems.
  • Knowledge and experience in the patient centered medical home model.
  • Working knowledge of medical clinic operations NCQA PCMH standards HEDIS measures and other clinical outcome measures.
  • Technical expertise in quality process improvement tools techniques reporting analysis and implementation.
  • Experience in the following areas typically gained from 5 years in a supervision capacity.
  • Developing department objectives and measurements to meet organizational goals
  • Staff selection and development
  • Management of department workload
  • Effective communication skills including but not limited to:
  • Ability to read and write effectively in English within the business context and to compose correspondence;
  • Ability to speak effectively before patients or employees of the organization;
  • Ability to tactfully confidentially and professionally handle all manner of patient communications.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment in handling all functions of the position.

Preferred Background

  • Bachelors degree in nursing public health healthcare administration or other healthcare profession or a combination of comparable clinical education and/or experience (e.g. physician RN NP PA)
  • Working knowledge certification and/or expertise in lean project management and other quality tools.
  • Working knowledge of valuebased care models and methods
