King County Metro Transit is seeking a skilled Project/Program Manager (PPM) IV to support the Bus Operations Division. Acting in a key leadership role this new position works closely with the Bus Operations Directors Office and will report to the Bus Operations Assistant Manager of Strategy and Administration.
This roleisresponsible foroverseeing project management support for the Bus Operation Division including the areas of continuous improvement and data will work with divisionleaderstodeliverinnovative system and organizational improvementsandsupportsuccessfuloutcomesthat alignwith King Countyand Metro values and coordinating across teams and managing complexprojects the position ensures that strategiesfocused ondeveloping leaders improving processes and organizational structures staff engagement and communications areseamlessly integrated into broader organizationalinitiatives driving collaboration understanding and continuous improvement. Thisposition will supervise a small teamand will be expected to foster a collaborative team culture while providing coaching and development opportunities to direct reports. This position will also support special projects as needed.

Position Info: This recruitment will be used to fill one (1) Career Services Project Program Manager IV Classification vacancy. In addition this selection process may be used to generate an eligibility list for future Career Service vacancies thatmay occur in this classification within this workgroup. The eligibility list will beretainedfor 12 months from the date of creationand may be used at the discretion of the hiring authority.

Workingcollaboratively and successfully with a diverse group of individuals from a variety ofdifferent positionsand backgrounds as a Program/Project Manager IV you will:
Lead and manageprojects
Oversee complex programs projects and initiatives that drive culturaland systemictransformation withinthe Bus Operationsdivision.
Provide strategic leadership while meeting project objectives and aligning efforts with Metros broader organizational goals.
Organize people and activities toaccomplishstrategic work plans and deliverables within established timelines.
Monitor and report progress
Develop and provide program reports updates and presentationstostakeholders.
Engage in evaluation and continual improvement of program activities; may organize focus groups listening sessions surveys and other tactics using the learnings to adjust and refine program approach.
Develop key data metrics analysis and reporting on project progress. Maylead mentor and assign work to other team members.
Standardize processes and workflows
Develop systems to standardize workflows and ensure alignment with best practices.
Oversee crossdivisional and interdepartmental projects to standardize workflowsoptimizeefficiency and enhance businesspractices withinBus Operations.
Foster Collaboration
Build strong partnerships withBus Operationsleadership teams and crossfunctional departments to align goals andensure effective implementation of strategic initiatives.
Act as a connector between teams to promote collaboration and alignment within the division.
Support Change Management
Lead efforts to foster a culture of open communication collaboration and innovation during organizational changes.
Develop strategies to support and engage employees during transitions or new initiatives.
Drive Continuous Improvement
Identifyopportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to improve organizational effectiveness.
Leverage data employee feedback and lessons learned to drive meaningful improvements across the division.
Facilitatediscussions with diverse teams from across the Division to ensure that improvement ideas are fully implemented.
Lead a team
Lead a team to improve system efficiency and support workgroups across the Bus Division of King County Metro. Primary bodies of work for the teamincludeprogram management continuous improvement and data management.
Build an effective teamthrough onboarding of new hires and supporting team members through coaching training and teaching.
Lead mentor and assign work to other team members.
Other duties as assigned.
A minimum of three (3) yearsofexperience in taking projects from concept through completion that engage employees orthe community OR a combination of work experience training and/or education that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position.
Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships with a variety of audiences including operational employees frontlineleaders and labor representatives using practices that advance equity and inclusion.
Comfort and flexibility in navigating a complex hierarchy while managing multiple competing priorities projects andinternalrelationships.
Engaging facilitation skills applied to meetings with multidisciplinary staff and leading groups to accomplish specifictasks.
Demonstrated understanding of key concepts in equity and social justice. Demonstratesa commitment to racial equity and social justice safety and sustainability promotingan equitable diverse andinclusive work environment.
Ability tomaintainconfidentiality of information on sensitive projects.
Skill in coachingleaders and otherswith the ability to organize people and activities toaccomplishstrategic workplans and deliverables within established timelines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly to diverse audiences including employees consultants and leadership.
Strong project management skills including time management organization and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks anddeadlines.
Ability to take initiative multitask and work effectively in highpressure situations with shifting priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work independently while also fostering strong collaborative relationships with internal and externalstakeholders.
Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to adapt to evolving priorities.
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office software including Outlook Word Excel PowerPointSharePoint and Teams.
Highly competitive candidates will have (desired but not):
Professional experience in a nonprofit/public organization and/or in a unionized environment.
Advanced knowledge of and experience in internal communications employee engagement or project management withinMetro and/or King County.
Experience inorganizational developmentcontinuous improvement strategic planning and program development.
Experience leading organizing and motivating multidisciplinary teams and working with matrixed workgroups and individualsat all levels within a large organization.
Demonstrated experience managing and leading change ensuring project execution and quality while successfully managingand mitigating risk.
Experience working in a transit organization.
Licensing Certification and Other Requirements:
Travel to work locations throughout King County with limited or no public transportation services is. A valid WashingtonState Drivers Licenseis required to operateKing County vehicles.
