Position Summary...
This position exists to lead the entire User and Associate Experience teams for Sams Club.
What youll do...
Responsibilities include:
- Driving multichannel design experience research strategy and innovation while sponsoring userexperience focused initiatives.
- Overseeing the development execution and improvement of User Experience (design) strategic plans providing expert guidance on industry trends and best practices instilling design thinking into the organization.
- Owning the endtoend User Experience and Associate Workplace Productivity Tools Experience driving continuous improvement in design tools documentation and processes.
- Additionally collaborating closely with Product leaders Engineering leaders and the Analytics team to execute design requirements ensuring strategic alignment within and across the organization.
- This role has leadership for the Design Studio (The Clubhouse).
Key Priorities
- User Discovery: Serve as a subject matter expert in generating storylines from user insights. Develop standards for comprehensive insight generation from unstructured information and industry trends.
- Design Research: Commission and oversee research project plans driving main research objectives and resource constraints. Determine research procedures and methods best suited to collect and analyze information driving improvements to research processes and practices.
- Driving Customer/Client Needs: Enable the creation of an ecosystem involving customers vendors and partners to create solutions preemptively. Foster the importance of understanding customer needs for designing solutions within the organization.
- Usability Testing and Iteration: Lead testing against design specifications and rapidly prioritize and solve testing issues. Promote the deployment of new technologies and innovations to maximize testing effectiveness.
- Interaction Design: Coach team members/stakeholders on evaluating designs creating and defining interaction patterns and templates and serving as a subjectmatter expert for user consumption habits
- Visual Design: Coach team members on evaluating designs and creating templates and style guides for consistent and scalable design solutions
- Prototyping: Set organizational standards for prototyping analyze organizational prototyping needs and establish policies and guidelines for advanced prototyping
- Managing Functional Partnerships: Build and maintain collaborative and strategic alliances with a wide range of partners across the business and industry. Create an environment that supports collaboration and provide insights on the impact of crossfunctional team collaboration on achieving strategic goals.
- Influencing and Building Stakeholder Consensus: Build consensus in sensitive situations presenting conflicting perspectives constructively. Become a trusted advisor to diverse stakeholders influencing them to take difficult actions on product/technology matters and coach others on effective communication and consensus building.
- Transformative Talent Development: In partnership with People Partners develops a talent strategy for UX Design which clearly identifies the skills experiences and competencies needed to build the Design function and to establish the function as an industry leader for the future enabling associate development and career growth while maintaining a highperformance culture
