Job Description:

As a Design Engineer 4 at the client you will lead the conceptualization mechanical design and packaging of vehicle components or systems.
-
Working from concept through prototype to production launch you will optimize designs for performance weight manufacturability cost and ergonomic fit collaborating across multiple teams to deliver award winning electric vehicles.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead mechanical design and packaging of vehicle architecture components tools jigs fixtures or subsystems.

Generate 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5/V6 or NX.

Ensure compliance with GD&T DVP&R DFMEA and PLM processes.

Execute virtual build simulations and support transition to physical prototyping.

Support BOM management change control and weight tracking.

Coordinate with internal design validation manufacturing teams and Tier 1 suppliers.

Solve complex packaging challenges while optimizing cost materials and manufacturing processes.

Develop and maintain engineering documentation including technical specs CAD clean up virtual mock ups and release packages.

Drive continuous improvement in design workflows and standards.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Automotive or related Engineering discipline.

Minimum of 5 years relevant design engineering or packaging experience at an OEM or Tier 1 supplier.

Expertise in 3D CAD (CATIA V5/V6 or NX) and familiarity with PLM tools.

Strong knowledge of GD&T principles DVP&R DFMEA analysis.

Proven track record managing cross functional packaging projects virtual build execution and CAD-based innovation.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience in tooling design jigs & fixtures battery packaging or lighting/electrical systems.

Exposure to injection molding adhesives composites or rapid prototyping methods.

Automotive industry experience with Tier 1 suppliers or OEM production programs.

Familiarity with CAE tools (e.g. FEA Moldflow SPEOS) and manufacturing processes (3D printing stamping).
