Scope of Role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for daily maintenance preventative maintenance and operational availability of the facilitys CNC and production equipmentas well as overall building services.

This role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Install diagnose troubleshoot and repair mechanical hydraulic pneumatic and electrical equipment as well as electrical systems and components on a variety of machines utilized in the plant to include but not limited to: CNC equipment manual equipment metal cutting equipment presses and forklifts.
• Perform simple welding repair and fabrication of items from blueprints.
• Perform a variety of installation and repair assignments including minor plumbing work.
• Utilize books and blueprints to locate and repair faulty components.
• Use precision measuring instruments to check machine accuracy (voltmeters calipers dial indicators etc.)
• Specify and requisition replacement parts using books prints and catalogs.
• Keep all maintenance equipment clean and properly stored.
• Contribute to the cleanliness efficiency and safety of the facility.
• Serves as a key support resource for the plant safety committee.
• Continually monitors maintenance work orders and handles repairs based on priority.
• Apply the principles of lean manufacturing (RBS) in accordance with Policy Deployment.
• Ability to work extra hours during the week weekends and holidays to meet business needs.

• Demonstrated ability to diagnose and troubleshoot PLCs.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand electrical hydraulic pneumatic and mechanical blueprints.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with using precision measuring instruments (voltmeters calipers dial indicators etc.)
• Some knowledge and prior experience with plumbing and welding (MIG and TIG) applications is desired
• Demonstrated ability to perform shop math calculations.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Resultoriented with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and multiple priorities.

• Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills which foster teamwork and collaboration and develop high quality working relationships to influence gain support and achieve results.

• Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Basic proficiency with various computer systems including MS Office applications (Word Excel) and Outlook.
• Proficiency in English language skills including effective verbal and written communication
  

Education and Experience Requirements

• A High School diploma or GED equivalency is required.

• A 2year technical degree is preferred.

• 3 or more years of maintenance experience with CNC and manual machining equipment (lathes mills grinders) including experience with mechanical pneumatic hydraulic and electrical or equivalent is required
• Understanding of PLC programming is desired
• Previous experience with gearcutting (hobbing) equipment is desired

Physical Demands:

Potential physical demands include but are not limited to: frequent walking and standing; occasional crawling climbing twisting stooping kneeling lifting up to 50 lbs carrying handling pushing and pulling. Potential sensory demands include but are not limited to: hearing and seeing.

Work Environment:

Majority of time is spent in a manufacturing production environment with some (but not all) climate controlled areas.
