Job Description
J.H. Fletcher & Co. a worldwide leader in the manufacture of heavy machinery has a job opening for a Quality Machine Inspector at our Huntington WV facility. This position plays a key role in ensuring the safety compliance and performance of mining and other heavy equipment before shipment.
The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in mechanical inspection practices strong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems and the ability to interpret technical drawings and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections on machine components and fully assembled equipment
- Evaluate workmanship of welds electrical and hydraulic systems installations and general mechanical form/fit and function.
- Gather engineering drawings and statutory/regulatory compliance documents to support inspections
- Complete detailed Machine Inspection Reports and document findings
- Communicate nonconformances to production team and confirm corrective actions
- Maintain accurate inspection records in accordance with company procedures
- Ensure equipment is compliant with internal standards and any domestic or international government regulations
- Ensure equipment meets all specifications in Production Orders
- Travel to vendor facilities customer sites (including underground visits) and authorized rebuilders as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- Experience with Fletcher Industrial Mineral (IM) equipment
- Experience with hydraulic electrical and welding systems
- Experience with IQAN controlled equipment
- Experience with diesel powered equipment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints schematics and technical drawings
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical testing tools and gauges
- Proficiency with computers and documentation tools
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong time management organizational skills and ability to prioritize work effectively
Preferred:
- Twoyear technical degree in a related field
- Prior experience inspecting underground mining machinery
- Machine assembly experience and background in quality assurance
- Understanding of MSHA compliance standards
- Valid Passport
